I found this today and didn't want to forget how awesome it was to see. Especially after living in Japan where, after my experience at a shelter, I saw animals that were abandoned or reluctantly given up to shelters after the March 11 events because the Japanese authorities were too heartless and thick-headed to allow this in any, let alone extreme circumstances.
Good job, NYC. You make me proud.
